Vibrant, colourful and uplifting paintings are Fiona's speciality. She paints using oils, acrylics, watercolours and mixed media. Her style and palette are strongly influenced by the Scottish Colourists and scenery in Scotland, where she studied Decorative Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art.
Her subjects are varied, mostly derived from nature and the outdoors. 'Plein air' sketches in watercolours gives her plenty of subjects to develop in her studio into oils and acrylics using a painting knife to produce loose, impressionist style paintings.
Living in several different countries and mixing with other cultures and nationalities has moulded her style and outlook on life as well as her creativity. She has lived in the south of England since 2009.
A former member of the Society of Floral Artists as well as the Guild of Aviation Artists, Fiona now runs the Laverstock Art Club in Salisbury, Wiltshire, and exhibits locally with several art groups including Artlook (www.artlook.org) and Salisbury Group of Artists. She also teaches workshops and is a tutor for painting holidays abroad.
She has paintings in Fisherton Mill Gallery and Arundells, Salisbury.
